Carter Lybrand & The Country Drifters

The Country Drifters were a local South Carolina family band formed by Carter’s late grandparents Eddie and Gerryleen “Gerry” Bickley. Carter carries the name “The Country Drifter” to honor the memory of his grandparents who played a major part in his life as well as his musical career.

By the age of 12 Carter had a guitar in his hand. Even to the extent to playing till his fingers bled; he could not seem to find a way to put it down. Music is a part of him, and everything he does in life. He taught himself to sing while picking some strings in his spare time during his high school years, and carried his guitar with him wherever he went. While deployed overseas in 2011-2012 he regularly played for his comrades, and won a base wide talent contest that consisted of many different singer songwriters. With the support of those he deployed with they convinced him that he needed to pursue his musical ambitions. He recorded a few demo’s of different songs that are unreleased at this time.

You will find a blues type tone with a southern draw in Carter’s voice that makes him unique compared to many artist you hear out there. Be on the lookout because Carter is going to make some noise here in the near future!
